Hot Stamping and Heat Transfer Printing Process

1. Round-to-Flat Stamping Method

The round-to-flat stamping method follows the working principle of a flatbed heat transfer machine. Flatbed heat transfer machines are mainly used for transfer printing on flat substrates and large-curvature curved surfaces.Products suitable for round-to-flat transfer printing mainly include:Products requiring full-surface transfer printing, such as control panels of household appliances, one side of cosmetic boxes, top surfaces of plastic gift boxes or wooden jewelry boxes, toy puzzle boards, plastic decorative murals, tabletop display stands, fan surfaces, PVC plastic sheets, skateboards, and plastic posters.By designing a floating device on the worktable, round-to-flat heat transfer machines can handle special products with complex shapes. Representative models of this type include the KC-H-150M and KC-H-300M. Heat transfer machines equipped with a rubber roller as the stamping unit are generally referred to as heat transfer machines.

2. Round-to-Round Stamping Method

This is the working principle of a cylindrical heat transfer machine. To achieve multi-purpose functionality, most hot stamping machine manufacturers integrate the functions of flatbed and curved-surface heat transfer machines to support both flat and curved printing.

  • For flat transfer printing: the rubber roller presses down and rotates while the worktable moves left and right.

  • For curved transfer printing: the worktable remains stationary, and only pure rolling contact occurs between the rubber roller and the cylindrical product.

Applicable products:

  • Hollow plastic bottles:

Rigid bottles that can withstand roller pressure can be transfer-printed with axial positioning; soft bottles require inflation before transfer printing.

  • Plastic hoses:

Toothpaste, facial cleanser, hand cream, cleanser, etc. Their openings are similar in diameter to the tube body, allowing easy support with a mandrel for transfer printing.

  • Cups & containers:

Similar to hoses but with larger openings, making mandrel support even more convenient. Cups represent the largest application volume for transfer printing.

3. Flat-to-Flat Hot Stamping Method

This is the structure of a flat hot stamping machine, used to stamp logos and text on a flat area, such as VCD control panels. The machine action is simple: only the stamping plate moves up and down.A wide range of models are available, including the manual flat hot stamping machine (KC-HM-TC series) and pneumatic flat hot stamping machine (KC-H-TC series).

4. Flat-to-Round Hot Stamping Method

Used for hot stamping on cylindrical surfaces, such as plastic bottle caps, ballpoint pens, hoses, glass bottles, circular dials, golf clubs, plastic cosmetic containers, food plastic packaging boxes, etc.Typical curved-surface hot stamping machines include the KC-H-TC50K, KC-H-TC70K, and KC-H-TC100K.

Contour-Matching Transfer Printing Process

Many products have irregular non-standard flat or cylindrical surfaces, some with highly complex contours. Hot stamping on such surfaces requires contour-matching transfer technology:

  • KC-H-TC120KM: floating worktable type contour hot stamping machine. The worktable floats up and down to ensure tight contact between the product and the rubber roller.

  • KC-H-TC318M: floating rubber roller type contour hot stamping machine. The rubber roller floats along the product profile to complete stamping.
