Positioning Device of Fully Automatic Hot Stamping Machine

For holographic hot stamping foils with individual patterns, no matter how accurately the holographic patterns are positioned on the foil, errors will gradually accumulate during the stamping process. Even if we reduce the error in the distance between holographic patterns on the stamping foil to one-hundredth of a millimeter, visible errors will still occur after stamping 1,000 patterns.Manufacturers of fully automatic hot stamping machines state that to eliminate the gradual accumulation of precision errors during stamping, holographic hot stamping foils with individual patterns require positioning optical eyes to correct spacing errors of the holographic patterns in a timely manner.
Each holographic pattern on the hot stamping foil must be equipped with a matching optical eye, and the relative position between the pattern and its optical eye remains constant. The optical eye is square with a side length of 3 mm; its center line aligns with that of the holographic pattern, and the distance between them is at least 3 mm. To ensure accuracy, the edges of the optical eye must be sharp and straight, with sharp and consistent optical characteristics.Currently, three types of technologies are used in positioning systems: basic type, in-line type with the stamping plate, and intelligent type.The basic positioning system is the simplest among registered hot stamping technologies.As the detector is placed at a certain distance from the stamping plate, it detects a pattern different from the one being stamped. This positioning technology therefore requires perfectly consistent spacing between all holograms; otherwise, any deviation will result in registered stamping errors.In-line positioning technology with the stamping plate features a detector placed immediately adjacent to the stamping plate, detecting the exact pattern being stamped. This is the most accurate positioning method, especially suitable for small flat-bed hot stamping machines.Intelligent positioning technology uses a detector that is also at a distance from the stamping plate, but employs a microprocessor for control to maintain tracking of the optical eye spacing and adjust the pattern position by pulling the stamping foil, thus improving positioning accuracy. This method is relatively sensitive to tension control of the hot stamping foil.
